No UFC event for UK and Ireland in 2011

UFC will not be doing a event in UK and ireland in 2011, after stating last year that they would put on 4-6 events in 2011.

So once again fans on this side of the water are left disapointed - we have been let down. Apprently the UFC don't make enough money when they put events on this side of the water as back in the USA as they are aired free through spike or versus. The UFC are looking into putting events on in the early hours uk time so they run at PPV-friendly times in the USA.

Marshall Zelaznik the UK UFC vice-president told Gareth A Davis of the daily telegraph that "The fans are disappointed we may not have an event here, I get it"and "some of the UK press and fans are suggesting they would be happy to drink a gallon of coffee and be in the arena all night if it meant UFC 127 type events coming to these shore".

What is the future of UFC events in the UK and Ireland? It seems uncertain the fact they will go a full year without a event means they are not making the money they could be, for now UK and Ireland UFC fans will have to wait to see what Dana and Co. come up with hopefully its sorted out sooner than later.
