Wanderlei Silva Returns for UFC 132

Wanderlei Silva (33-10-1) returns to the octagon for UFC 132 to face Chris Leben (21-7). The Brazilian, nicknamed 'The Axe Murderer' will be keen to get back in the octagon after a long injury layoff. In the build up to the fight, Silva today said "I want to show the best Wanderlei Silva for my fans around the world in this fight".

Silva appears to be in confident mood and in talking about his training partners said "They're so tough; these guys kick my ass every day. But it makes me stronger. I'm ready for my next fight – standup, ground, takedowns – and [I have] really good cardio right now. I have the best camp in my life."

Chris Leben, a veteran of the ultimate fighter season 1, gave his thoughts on the match up. "Fighting Wanderlei it's a little easier for me to train a little harder. There’s nothing more motivating than a loss.  I went out and had a bad performance and that’s due to mistakes I made.  It makes me want to correct those things and let everybody know, hey, I’m better than what they saw.  I’ve had my ups and downs for sure.  With the Brian Stann fight it left a shitty taste and I want to go out and get back on the winning side of things.  There nothing bigger than a win over Wanderlei.  That’s huge."

Both fighters will be desperate for the win and this fight has the potential to be an all out war. Leben is coming off a loss to Brian Stann at UFC 125, while Silva, whos last win came against Michael Bisping at UFC 110 will want to show his fans that he still has the ability to fight at the top level.
