Bookies Paddy Power have slashed the odds on Irish cage fighting sensation Aisling Daly, otherwise known as ‘Ais The Bash’ being crowned this year’s MMA ‘Fighter of the Year’ to 11/10 from 5/4 after the classy pint sized Drimnagh woman defended her world title against US hometown favourite Kelly Warren in front of 4000 fans in Ohio in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
Aisling, who signed a year long sponsorship deal with Paddy Power in September, continues to go from strength to strength and is rapidly tearing a name for herself in circles of the up and coming contact sport. She is the first and only Irish MMA sportsperson to hold a world title in great news for Irish MMA.
Speaking after Aisling’s win last night, Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “We’re delighted Ais' has yet another win in the bag. She’s unstoppable and a great ambassador for the sport in Ireland.”
Daly has been heavily backed to be crowned ‘Fighter of the Year’ in Fight Hounds 2011 End of Year MMA Awards ahead of fellow Irish MMA fighters Conor McGregor at 13/8 and Cathal Pendred at 8/1.
