UFC 139 Aims to Please!

Following the fanfare surrounding last week's UFC on Fox card - the mixed martial arts community will be treated to a ridiculously good card this weekend as the promotion heads to San Jose for UFC 139. To coin the second most overly used phrased in MMA (the most overused is "stand and bang") this "card is stacked". Fans will be treated to Ex-World Champions, Ex-TUF Winners and title contenders from top to bottom. Despite the lack of UFC press hoooo-ha for this event - the card really aims to please!  The main event sees former Pride and UFC Champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua take on errr former Pride and UFC and Strikeforce Champion Dan Henderson. This match is a decade in the making and sees Henderson aiming to defeat his second member of the Rua family following his previous victory of Shogun's brother Ninja.

Elsewhere in another fight featuring an (Ex) Chute Boxe fighter, Wanderlei Silva will trade punches and kicks with stand-up ace and movie star Cung Le. Le will be fighting in the UFC for the first time but will surely make a lot of fans with his flashy San-Shou Boxing style and engaging personality. San Jose locals will be in fine voice as their local favourite "The California Kid" Urijah Faber faces the hard hitting former Champion Brian Bowles in a fight that may end up Fight of the Night. Both fighters are ex-title holders and both have a ton experience and lot to gain from a big win on Saturday night, expect non-stop back to back action from the off!

FightIreland favourite Martin Kampmann will aim to climb the welterweight ranks once more as he faces off against the Thiago Alves conquering Rick Story. Rounding off the Main Card is everybodys' favourite bleeder Stephan Bonnar take on the ever improving Kyle Kingsbury. We'll be taking Kingsbury in this one to take home is fifth UFC win in a row.
